common questions
Hopefully, this gives you the answers to the questions people ask me about hypnosis.
-
Simply put, yes.
Hypnotherapy is an incredibly powerful and transformative tool in healing and in creating positive and lasting change.
More and more, scientific and medical research is acknowledging the profound impact and benefits hypnotherapy can have on an emotional and physical level.
That said, it is not a magic cure-all and requires commitment and honesty from clients.

Some 95% of our mind operates on a subconscious level, driving our behaviours without us even really being aware. Hypnotherapy accesses that 95% by altering our state of awareness.
This allows us to focus inwardly and work within our subconscious which offers less resistance than our conscious mind. We then work, together, to reframe your perceptions around the things you would like to change.
-
Being in hypnosis is more familiar than you might think. It's a meditative state, like that place between sleeping and waking and mostly people find themselves comfortable, relaxed and at peace.
We enter this altered state frequently on a daily basis. Be that when we're daydreaming while completing routine tasks or even during physically demanding activities such as running or yoga.
-
No, at least not in the traditional sense. Sessions are about facilitating and holding space for clients to safely explores their thoughts, feelings and emotions under hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy then looks to work with the subconscious mind to find areas of resistance and provide strategies for creating positive and lasting change.
-
Absolutely.
Throughout the session you will remain aware of who you are, where you are, with the majority of clients recalling most of if not all of the session.
If you wanted or needed to you would be able to bring yourself back to your normal state of consciousness at anytime.
No one can be hypnotised if they’re not open to being. You are in complete control of your behaviour and body throughout and can't be made to do or say anything against your will.
-
Depending on what we are working on will depend on how many sessions you might need.
Mostly this will be between 4 to 6.
For smoking or vaping cessation a 2 session package available.
-
All I ask is that clients come ready to be open and honest with themselves and are committed to making change.
-
Sometimes I may suggest certain exercises to do outside of our sessions. This could be anything from simple mindfulness techniques or listening to recorded hypnosis.
Often though you are simply required to notice, observe and embrace any changes.
